The Festival of the Chariots
Ratha Yatra is a great parade offered to Lord Krishna. In His merciful form as Sri Jagannatha, He travels through the streets with His elder brother, Sri Baladeva, and His sister, Srimati Subhadra, on three chariots. During the procession, devotees and visitors chant Hare Krishna, dance and accompany the journey. A public spiritual and cultural gathering follows the parade.
Jagannatha Puri
The festival is traditionally celebrated in Jagannatha Puri, India. From there, Ratha Yatra has also become a celebration held in cities across many countries by communities of Krishna devotees.
